STUDY CONCERNING SEED YIELD AND THE ELEMENTS OF FRUCTIFICATION IN DACTYLIS GLOMERATA L. VARIETIES

2200 Brasov, Romania

The potential seed yield related to the components of fructification and the forage yield has been examined for eight Dactylis glomerata L. varieties of different class of earliness.  The high variation among the varieties of the components of fructification and of the forage yield (the number of generative and vegetative tillers) constitutes the premise of success in the breeding activity for the creation of the varieties with high potential of fructification and high forage yield.  As a result of the convergent selection, the latest flowering varieties Intensiv and Poiana produced the highest seed and forage yield.

Keywords: Dactylis glomerata; seed yield; seed yield components; dry matter yield; phenotype correlation.
