PREDICTION OF POD AND SEED PRODUCTION IN SCORPIURUS MURICATUS SUBSP. SULCATUS: RELATIONS WITH CERTAIN PHENOLOGIC CHARACTERS

A.Younsi

18, rue Didouche Mourad Alger, Algérie

Biometric studies of pods and seeds in spontaneous populations of Scorpiurus muricatus subsp. sulcatus suggest to select populations which produce a high quantity of pods or of seeds.  At this stage of results, it is not possible to predict production by using stepwise regression because selection of seed number per pod is depending on several characters of pods and selection of pod production seems related particularly to certain forms existing among populations.
